ABOUT INGE RIEDEL JEWELLERY

Inge Riedel creates her handcrafted jewellery full time from her home studio, in Pretoria, South Africa.

Focusing strongly on creating jewellery that is of a high quality, with an attention to detail, she spends many hours on each handmade piece that she designs.

Her process starts off with melting and preparing all her own metals, before rolling them out into sheets or making wire, for her various projects. Much time is spent on the finishing off of surfaces, to ensure a high polish and beautiful shine.

“The start of every piece of jewellery originates with an idea, the more complex ideas are mapped out on paper. Any shaping, forming, cutting joining and polishing is done by me.
